Last night my family had a cookout. I had an awesome time. Unfortunately days after the cookout, some people in my family had fevers, diarrhea, and were sick. I was in charge of preparing all the meat before they went to the grill. I took all the meat from the freezer and let it defrost in room temperature. After the meat had defrosted I cut it on this special tray I just bought. I later gave the meat to my dad so it could be cooked. I washed my hands but not the tray, and prepared salad on that special tray. What did I do wrong? Sincerely, Young Cooker.

Dear Young Cooker:
I am glad you had a good time at your family's cookout, but you violated many food sanitation rules. First of all you never ever defrost meat, by letting it stay out in room temperature. You can defrost meat by placing it in the refrigerator. You can also microwave meat to defrost it. You also cross-contaminated by using the same tray for different foods. After you used your special tray with the meat you should of got a new tray. The germs from the meat transferred to the salad.
Dear EPIC FAILURE:
I just bought a brand new freezer. I like the freezer a lot but my food has not been tasting great lately. I have also been having many high fevers. I set the temperature of my freezer at 57 degrees. Should I get a new freezer, or am I just getting the seasonal flu bug. When I defrost meat it takes me less time to defrost it then usually. What am I doing wrong.
Sincerely
, It's Freezing.
Dear It's Freezing:
The fevers you are getting is not because of the seasonal flu bug. It is because you set your freezer at a wrong temperature. Every freezer has to be set at 0-40 degrees Fahrenheit. Don't buy a new freezer just change the temperature. Trust me your food will start tasting a lot better now, and you will get rid of your fevers.
